Detectives investigating the rape of a 14-year-old girl in Leigh have made an arrest.A 14-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of rape and remains in custody for questioning.
Police have increased patrols in the area and say they are not looking for anyone else in connect with the attack. Shocked neighbours and community leaders have spoken out following the rape of a 14-year-old girl on land to the south of Westleigh Park, off WestLeigh Lane, between 4pm and 5.30pm on Thursday, April 22.
Neighbours who live near the park say they saw police arrive on nearby Isherwood Street on Friday and spotted officers blocking off a bridge on the far side of the park, where a path leads towards Manley Close.
