The 13-year-old boy was in Haresfinch Park when he was assaulted by a group of males - all believed to be teenagers. The victim was left with a broken nose and bruising to his head and the gang have been described as 'dressed in dark clothing' and having 'their faces covered', the Liverpool Echo reports.

Merseyside Police today said they were continuing to appeal for witnesses to the 'nasty' assault, which dates back to February 28, as enquiries remain ongoing.
