The sickening attack happened on land to the south of Westleigh Park, off WestLeigh Lane, between 4pm and 5.30pm on Thursday, April 22, police say.
They have since launched a manhunt to find the girl's attacker, who is thought to be a man around 20 years old or younger. Neighbours who live near the park say they saw police arrive on nearby Isherwood Street on Friday and spotted officers blocking off a bridge on the far side of the park, where a path leads towards Manley Close.
