Weather expert Jim Dale told the Daily Express that while it may be too early yet in March to see the extreme upward swings, next month could bring some signs of early heat before summer.

He said: "I think hot weather could come in fairly early as far as April is concerned perhaps."I know March is the start of Spring but I think we're probably going to get properly into April before we start to see the searing sort of temperatures.Mr Dale added that he "wouldn't be surprised" to see "26C, 27C, 28C in the middle of April."This would exceed the usual daily high of around 12C in April, and a low of 4C.While the highest temperature ever recorded in April was a boiling 29.4 at Camden Square, London on 16 April 1949, a high of 28C in the fourth month of 2022 would smash existing records in other parts of the UK.This would include Wales, where the previous record of 26.2 was registered by the Met Office back in 2003.In the meantime, the outlook for this weekend and beyond looks somewhat more mixed, with mild conditions and pleasant highs of 13-15C being interspersed with wet and windy spells across Britain.A yellow weather warning for wind has been issued by the Met Office in the far southeast of England for Saturday (12 March), with this being extended to coastal areas of Wales by Sunday. For the latest breaking news and stories from across the globe from the Daily Star, sign up for our newsletter by clicking here..
