Jack White has spoken to students at Oxford University about the “simplicity” of The White Stripes and how that helped them connect with listeners.The singer, songwriter and guitarist made the comments while at an intimate Q&A session at the prestigious university earlier this month. It comes while he embarked on a number of live shows across the UK over the past week.During a segment of the session, which was shared on his Instagram page, White recalled how he thinks it was the element of simplicity that led to the band getting momentum, and shared that he was surprised to become recognised as a guitarist, as his passion was initially towards a different instrument.“The White Stripes was the project I had that was all about simplicity. Jack White has swapped out the lyrics of his 2018 hit ‘Corporation’ to hit out at US President Donald Trump and Elon Musk.Last month (February 18), Jack White performed his final North American date as part of the ‘No Name’ tour in Boston, where he played a scathing version of ‘Corporation’ that saw him take aim at Trump and Musk.Though the show took place nearly a month ago, the performance has only recently started making headlines after footage of the song began circulating in recent days. During the song, Jack White starts off by ripping into Tesla owner Elon Musk, who was appointed head of the Department of Government Efficiency by Trump.“I was thinking about taking government subsidies and starting my own electric car company; Who’s with me?” White sings.

The numbers mark the highest amount in revenue and royalty distributions to creators and music publishers in ASCAP’s history, powered by revenue growth and the lowest overall cost allocation overhead rate in the U.S. at 10%, according to the announcement.
