Fontaines D.C. have reflected on losing out to The Rolling Stones at the 2025 Grammys, joking that they think they need to be over the age of 40 to take home a trophy.It was announced at the end of 2024 that the Dublin post-punk heroes had secured a Best Rock Album nomination for ‘Romance‘.They were up against IDLES’ ‘Tangk‘, Green Day’s ‘Saviours‘, Jack White‘s ‘No Name‘, Pearl Jam‘s ‘Dark Matter‘, The Black Crowes‘s ‘Happiness Bastards’ and Rolling Stones’ 2024 album ‘Hackney Diamonds‘.It was their second nomination after the Dublin post-punk heroes were also up for Best Rock Album for ‘A Hero’s Death’ in 2021, but the trophy for the 2025 edition ultimately went to Mick Jagger and co.

Deftones have added new dates to their North American tour, which will expand into the late summer.The newly announced extension of dates will pick up on August 22 at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, BC. From there, Chino Moreno and co will make stops across various cities such as Edmonton, Calgary, Minneapolis, Buffalo, Montreal, Cleveland, Baltimore and more.

IDLES have shared a new remix of ‘POP POP POP’ featuring Danny Brown – you can listen to it below.The original version of the song features on the Bristol band’s fifth studio album ‘Tangk’ – which reached Number One in the UK upon its release in February.Today (December 17), IDLES have dropped the studio version of the fan and live favourite ‘POP POP POP’ remix – a team-up with US rapper/singer-songwriter Danny Brown.The group brought out Brown to assist with a live airing of the track during their headline set on the Other Stage at Glastonbury 2024 in June.The dark reimagining of ‘POP POP POP’ begins with a verse from Brown over a stuttering drum beat, synth bassline and eerie keys before IDLES frontman Joe Talbot comes in.Tune in here:IDLES revealed that they would be performing with Brown at Glasto ’24 during an interview with NME at the festival.NME described the original version of ‘POP POP POP’ as an “album highlight” in a four-star review of ‘Tangk’: “[It is] an arresting trip-hop fever dream, leaving the past well behind: ‘Hold the clutch, hold the phone, watch me fly – hold the mirror to my mother’s cries‘.”The record recently went in at Number 46 on NME‘s 50 best albums of 2024 list. “IDLES may have packed their expansive fifth album ‘TANGK’ with love songs and the odd restrained ode, but sonically and vocally, the Bristolians still sounded as visceral as ever,” the entry read.

IDLES frontman Joe Talbot has said that although the band are “grateful” to be nominated for awards, the idea of craving validation from them is something he believes is “toxic”.The band have been nominated for three Grammys for their recent album ‘Tangk’ – Best Rock Album for the record itself and Best Rock Performance and Best Rock Song for the single ‘Gift Horse’. IDLES also scored two nominations two years ago for their 2021 album ‘Crawler’ and the single ‘Crawl!’Talbot was asked about the recognition the band had received from the Recording Academy in an interview with Variety and explained why he didn’t want to garner too much validation from award nominations“You shouldn’t ask another person for validation, you should be able to just believe in yourself,” Talbot said.

IDLES have announced a homecoming Bristol Block Party slated for next year and marking their only UK gigs of 2025.The Bristol punk group have taken to their official Instagram and shared that they will be headlining the Bristol Block Party, a two-night fest occurring on August 1 and 2. The two nights will see them take over Queen Square – marking the first mass live music event at the site in over two decades.IDLES are set to be joined by very special guests, DJs and the best of Bristol’s street food and drink scene.

Soon after the incident, misinformation appeared online, falsely claiming that the suspect was a Muslim asylum seeker.Shortly afterwards, huge groups including far-right and anti-immigration extremists took to the streets around the country to riot and cause violence and disorder.
