System Of A Down’s Shavo Odadjian has opened up about his shelved collaboration with KoRn‘s Jonathan Davis.The legendary metal band’s bassist and member of Seven Hours After Violet discussed why he decided to not release his joint track with the KoRn vocalist while appearing as a guest on the Las Vegas radio station KOMP 92.3.As Blabbermouth notes, Odadjian had reported back in April 2023 that the song would be released as part of Seven Hours After Violet’s self-titled debut LP. However, upon its release on October 11 2024, the song was not featured on the album’s tracklist.“Morgoth [real name Michael Montoya – and guitarist of Seven Hours After Violet] had a chorus he had sang for [Davis] a while back. ‘Cause he produces a lot of bands, and he’s worked with Jonathan Davis.

Korn bassist Fieldy has claimed that he hasn’t spoken to his bandmates since 2019.In mid-2021, Fieldy (real name Reginald Arvizu) told fans he would not be appearing on Korn’s upcoming tour, explaining that he had been “dealing with some personal issues that at times have caused me to fall back on some of my bad habits and has caused some tension with the people around me”Now, the bassist has revealed that during his five-year break from Korn, he hasn’t spoken to his bandmates at all.“I haven’t talked to those guys since 2019. So it’s like we’re just kind of both…. They’re truckin,’” he explained in a recent interview with the Basement Talk podcast.

Korn‘s Brian ‘Head’ Welch has shared an update on their next record.The US nu-metal band’s last studio album, ‘Requiem’, came out in February 2022, and since then they’ve been teasing a follow-up.Welch previously said that there would be new music coming in 2024, telling Loudwire: “Yeah, new music coming out next year. I don’t know, we’re just kind of in hiding right now, just doing our own thing.”But, now, he’s confirmed they won’t be releasing anything before the year ends. Speaking to the podcast Everblack, Welch touched on their current songwriting process.

KoRn show, Denzel Curry has promised fans he will “make it up” to them at Reading & Leeds.The alt-rap star was set to perform as the support for nu-metal legends KoRn last night (August 11), as they headed to Gunnersbury Park for what was their biggest UK show to date.Curry was set to take to the stage after earlier performances from Loathe, Wargasm and Spiritbox, though announced at the last minute that he had been forced to pull out of the event as he had lost his voice.According to an update, he debated whether or not to power through with the set in West London, but ultimately decided against it as he didn’t want to “risk further injury” or deliver a lacklustre performance. KoRn‘s new music, which he says will be their “best and heaviest” in years.The guitarist was speaking during an interview with WSOU 89.5 FM (via Metal Injection) when he shared that the band were “working passionately and intensely working on new music”.Though he admitted they were “a little bit behind”, he said they were “really digging deep into sounds and tones and miking techniques and just really focusing on every aspect of just the miking and the sonic levels of everything”.“I love the last few records we’ve done in the last 10 years, but I think – I just have something in me that thinks we could beat the tones,” he said.He added that while he “loves” the songs they’ve done in the past, he feels that “tone-wise” they can “beat it”.“So we’re spending a lot more time on this new music, we’re spending a lot more money, and we don’t have any record label involved, so it’s all coming from us. And we really want to dissect our sound and remember where we came from and how we did it back then,” he shared.Head described the new sound as having a “vintage KoRn feel with a modern twist”, adding: “So it’s very intense.
