Oasis, The Stone Roses and more, has been rediscovered.The stage is located in a terraced house in Hull, and has previously hosted performances from artists who would go on to become some of the biggest names in music.It was found as the owners booked a carpet refit, and the original stage was uncovered. It dates back to the ‘50s, and was lost when the club remodelled and extended the venue in 1995.Oasis, Radiohead, Pulp, The Housemartins and The Stone Roses all played on the stage before going on to find global fame, and their sets date back to a time when the venue was home to a social club.Speaking to BBC News, general manager Paul Sarel said it was a “lovely surprise” to find the stage during the carpet refit, and was reminded of how “some of the most famous bands in the world all squeezed onto this tiny space”.“When we posted on social media, we had so many people who said they remembered playing on that stage or seeing some of the most famous bands play on that small area,” he told the outlet.“That carpet’s seen some history…It had lots of holes in it.
