John Malkovich lead a pop-themed psychological thriller in Opus.Directed by Mark Anthony Green, the film follows a young writer who is invited to the remote compound of a legendary pop star who mysteriously disappeared 30 years ago, only to find herself in the middle of his twisted plan.Other cast members in the film include Juliette Lewis, Murray Bartlett, Amber Midthunder, Stephanie Suganami, Young Mazino, Tatanka Means and Tony Hale.After it premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January, Opus was released in cinemas on March 14, 2025.The film’s score is by Danny Bensi and Saunder Jurriaans, whose previous credits together include Speak No Evil, Tulsa King and Netflix’s Ozark.Aside from the score, the film features three original songs by Nile Rodgers and The-Dream, which are performed by John Malkovich as Albert Moretti in the film.

Stephen Graham reunites with Boiling Point director Philip Barantini for British drama Adolescence.Written by Jack Thorne (Toxic Town) and Graham, the Netflix series follows 13-year-old boy Jamie Miller who is arrested for the murder of a classmate. Netflix documentary speculates he may have been influenced by government agents.Directed by Errol Morris, Chaos: The Manson Murders covers several conspiracy theories tied to the 1969 killing spree, including how it might relate to secret experiments by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and Federal Bureau Of Investigation (FBI) at the time.The documentary is based on the 2019 book Chaos: Charles Manson, The CIA, And The Secret History of The Sixties, written by journalist Tom O’Neill who appears in the film.The film’s title relates to the CIA project Operation Chaos, which was an initiative to spy on anti-war groups and other protest movements within the US between 1967 and 1974 during the Cold War.MKUltra was a human experimentation program conducted by the CIA to find drugs and procedures which could be used as forms of mind control, whether to force confessions akin to a “truth serum” or to make people forget things from their past.According to NPR, MKUltra was created by CIA chemist Sidney Gottlieb in 1953 and ran until the early 1960s. The project began during a period of Cold War “paranoia” at the CIA, when many feared communists had perfected some kind of mind control drug.The experiments conducted by the CIA involved administering mind-altering substances such as LSD, often on unsuspecting individuals.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie became one of the highest-grossing animated films of all time, a sequel is officially on the way.Chris Pratt voices Nintendo’s iconic video game character in the 2023 film, alongside Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi and Jack Black as Bowser.The film is joint production between Nintendo, Universal Pictures and Illumination, the studio best known for the Despicable Me franchise.In 2024, a sequel to The Super Mario Bros. Movie was officially announced during the Mario Day celebrations on March 10.The sequel is set to come out in cinemas on April 3, 2026 in the US.The film will be released in other territories on the same date, although the specific regions are yet to be announced.

Netflix series Toxic Town.Written by Jack Thorne (His Dark Materials), the series follows a group of mothers who are fighting for justice after a link is discovered between toxic waste in the town and their children being born with defects.Jodie Whittaker and Aimee Lou Wood lead the cast, alongside Robert Carlyle, Rory Kinnear, Joe Dempsie, Brendan Coyle, Claudia Jessie and Lauren Lyle.Toxic Town is produced by Charlie Brooker and Annabel Jones’ production company Broke & Bones, with Minkie Spiro serving as director.Netflix has not announced any plans for a second season. The show was originally billed as a miniseries, so it’s highly unlikely a second season will be commissioned.The story of the Corby scandal was also concluded across the show’s four episodes, so there’s little reason for the show to continue unless it tackles another case entirely.The true story behind Toxic Town is often described as the English version of Erin Brockovich, a paralegal who was instrumental in building a case against Pacific Gas & Electric Company in relation to water contamination in Hinkley, California.This case was covered in the 2000 biographical film Erin Brockovich with Julia Roberts in the lead role, who won an Oscar for her performance.As for other similar cases, 2019 film Dark Waters is a dramatised version of Robert Bilott’s case against the chemical manufacturing company DuPont.

Danny Dyer reunites with director Nick Love in comedy drama Marching Powder.The pair previously worked together on 2004’s Football Factory, along with crime film The Business, Goodbye Charlie Bright, and 2007’s Outlaw.Marching Powder covers familiar ground for the duo, with a mix of football hooliganism, drugs, and unhinged blasts of humour.A synopsis reads: “Middle-aged Jack, arrested for drugs, strives in six weeks to repair marriage, curb bullying in-law, and guide stepbrother Kenny Boy, but his efforts fail as life spirals out of control.”Other cast members in the film include Stephanie Leonidas, Calum McNab, Philippe Brenninkmeyer, Daniel Fearn and Dean Harrison.The film’s score is by Alfie Godfrey, who previously collaborated with Nick Love on TV series A Town Called Malice. Parasite, director Bong Joon-ho has returned with a science-fiction comedy starring Robert Pattinson.Based on the novel Mickey7 by Edward Ashton, the film follows Mickey Barnes who joins a space mission as an ‘expendable’. In this job, he’s given lethal assignments but everytime he dies, he’s ‘reprinted’ through cloning technology.Other members of the film’s cast include Naomi Ackie, Steven Yeun, Toni Collette, Mark Ruffalo and Holliday Grainger.This is Bong Joon-ho’s eighth film, following the likes of Okja, Snowpiercer, Mother, Parasite, and The Host.After a failed business venture leaves them on the run, Mickey Barnes (Pattinson) and his friend Timo (Yeun) sign up as crew on a space ship which is leaving Earth to colonise a planet called Nilfheim.

Brian, along with his parents Christopher and Roberta Laundrie, all refused to cooperate with police to discuss Gabby’s whereabouts.

Attack On Titan is celebrating its final bow with a repackaged theatrical run for its final chapters.Based on the manga by Hajime Isayama, the anime series about humanity’s fight against giant humanoid Titans began in April 2013 and went onto span four seasons in total.The series came to an end with two extended specials, with the last one airing in November 2023. The final volume of the manga, meanwhile, was released in October 2021.The film brings together the last two episodes of Attack On Titan into one giant omnibus feature, which runs for 145 minutes in total.
