Taking on the ’50s-inspired ‘Little Richard’s Bible’, the title track of the album, John was behind the piano for a searing solo while Carlile was on guitar.Introduced by host Jack Black and joined by Chad Smith on drums, the pair performed in front of retro-style LED signs, with one illuminated to read: “Who believes in angels?” at the front of the stage when they took on the song.Their new album features backing from the likes of Pino Palladino (Nine Inch Nails, Gary Numan and David Gilmour), Josh Klinghoffer (Pearl Jam, Beck), as well as Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Smith, and includes the recent single ‘Swing For The Fences’ and last year’s ‘Never Too Late’.The pair’s new album follows on from John’s 2021 collaborative LP ‘The Lockdown Sessions’, which featured Carlile along with the likes of Dua Lipa, Miley Cyrus, Stevie Nicks and Lil Nas X.John’s 31st and latest solo album, ‘Regimental Sgt.

Jack Black has revealed his is having “night terrors” ahead of his first time hosting Saturday Night Live in 20 years.The actor and musician was announced as the host of the April 5 edition of the sketch show earlier this month, where he will be joined by musical guests Elton John and Brandi Carlile.With a week to go before the show, Black appeared at the London premiere of his new film A Minecraft Movie in Leicester Square on Sunday (March 30), where he was asked about his state of mind for his SNL return.He told Variety that it feels “cray cray” and “very exciting” to be hosting the NBC show again, adding he is “having lots of nightmares and night terrors and also fond memories flooding back.”Asked how he thinks the writer’s room will go ahead of the live broadcast on Saturday, he added: “You know what they’re thinking about right now? They are just all in a dead coma from last night’s show. Maybe some of them are thinking of some ideas, but I’m really thinking it’s one of those shows they put together in one week, that’s part of the excitement.”Black has hosted three times in the past, the most recent of those coming in December 2005 while promoting Peter Jackson’s King Kong.A Minecraft Movie is based on the titular best-selling video game, which is set in a land made entirely of square-shaped blocks called the Overworld.

Elton John and Brandi Carlile‘s upcoming one-off concert at the London Palladium later this month is being filmed for a CBS special – find out more below.To celebrate the pair’s upcoming record ‘Who Believes In Angels?’, Carlile and Sir Elton will be playing a special, one-off show at The London Palladium on March 26 and access to tickets will be available exclusively to those who pre-order the album.Now, it has been revealed per a Billboard report that the show is being filmed for a CBS special that is due to air on the network on April 6, and will also stream concurrently on Paramount+.Billboard also reports that the CBS special will include exclusive interviews with the pair, as well as “those closest” to Elton John and Brandi Carlile.For the concert, Elton John and Brandi Carlile are due to play a selection of songs from their joint album, as well as several individual classics. They are also expected to “pull back the curtain on their 20-year friendship, the journey behind their latest collaboration and share intimate footage from their process”.‘Who Believes In Angels?’ is set for release on April 4 via Island EMI and includes collaborations from Andrew Watt and John’s longtime songwriting partner Bernie Taupin.It comes as a follow-up to the legendary artist’s 2021 album, ‘The Lockdown Sessions’, and also includes the 2025 Oscar-nominated song ‘Never Too Late’, which was created for the Disney+ documentary of the same name.
