The Great Escape yesterday added a stack more artists to the line-up for this year’s festival, which takes place in Brighton in May.Among the artists newly announced for the 2023 edition of the big old showcase festival are The Big Moon, Sad Night Dynamite, Willie J Healey, James Ellis Ford, Stone, Lime Garden, English Teacher, Billie Martin, Caity Baser, Yunè Pinku, Deki Alem and Mestizo Collective.In addition to the line-up announcement, the festival’s organisers have also revealed that a show will take place in Liverpool on 2 Mar as part of the TGE Presents programme, a series of gigs presented by the TGE team in the run up to the festival in May.TGE is partnering with Licks Magazine and Ticketmaster New Music to stage that gig, which will be headlined by Lime Garden, with supports to be announced.As for May, the TGE festival is obviously accompanied by the TGE Conference for music industry delegates, which includes the CMU+TGE Sessions that this year will put the spotlight on music and education, music and deals, and music and the creator economy.You can find our more information about that here.

Glastonbury‘s charity partner Greenpeace has announced its programme for this year’s festival, promising to “change hearts and minds” and encourage “protest, activism and voting” ahead of the UK’s General Election.This year’s Greenpeace Field is set to focus on three “central pillars” for “effective climate action” – protest, activism and voting. The General Election will take place the week after Glastonbury on July 4.“Greenpeace is uniting the British public to push the next government – whoever it is – to take climate change seriously,” the charity said in a press release.The charity have also launched a campaign called Project Climate Vote, which is aiming to raise awareness of how voting is “the most impactful action you can take for the climate”.

IDLES have announced their support acts for their upcoming 2024 UK/Ireland tour – check out all details below.The Bristol band have just released their fifth album ‘Tangk‘ and are set to tour the album across the country from July this year. Now, the band have taken to social media to reveal a swathe of support acts who’ll join their tour with them.First, Australian genre-bending master Genesis Owusu, along with Brighton punk rockers Lambrini Girls have been announced to perform with IDLES.

Jamie T has shared a new single titled ‘Hippodrome’ ahead of his headline show at Finsbury Park in London.Co-produced by Olly Burden, ‘Hippodrome’ is an anthemic track that opens up with bright strings leading into a nostalgic beat. The lyrics “Heart quickens south of the river / Mouth full of vinnie sipping cans full of liquor” make up the chorus describing a night from the past.The singer is set to play his largest headline gig on Friday, June 30 at Finsbury Park in London. The show will feature support from IDLES, Kojey Radical, Biig Piig, Hak Baker and Willie J Healey.Speaking to NME about the upcoming monumental moment, Jamie T shared: “I’m excited! ‘The Theory Of Whatever’, Jamie T will play the biggest headline show of his career at London’s Finsbury Park next weekend (June 30) with special guests IDLES.Ahead of the gig, Jamie and the Bristol band’s Joe Talbot spoke to NME about how they met, their mutual appreciation, what to expect from the “celebration” of a gig and how they’re starting a soul band with Willie J Healey.For Jamie, the gig is set to be a family affair, with his parents both set to be in attendance. “I never really tend to get people down to shows, and my parents have only seen two gigs of mine ever, at Brixton Academy and Ally Pally, but this is important so I’ve got everyone down,” he told NME.“I’ve been doing this for 17 years now, and it seems like the right moment to get everyone together,” he added.

The Great Escape festival has today (March 28) added more than 100 new artists to its 2023 line-up, including Yonaka and Coach Party.The three-day festival is set to take place between May 10 and May 13 and will be based across over 35 venues across Brighton.In a new update, the festival organisers have today confirmed that 140 new artists will attend the mammoth event. The new additions will join over 250 musicians that have already been announced.Alt-rock band Coach Party are among the newly announced acts, as is the British rock four-piece, Yonaka.Other acts from across all genres are also now set to perform at the Brighton-based event – which provides a platform for emerging artists and underground acts.

Willie J Healey has shared details of his upcoming third album, ‘Bunny’ along with new single Dreams – check it out below.The follow up to 2020’s ‘Twin Heavy‘ will be released on March 24, 2023 via Yala! Records and marks a significant change in sound for the Oxfordshire singer-songwriter. While ‘Twin Heavy’ was an album Healey himself described as sounding like “a 70s orgy”, ‘Bunny’ takes inspiration from funk, Philadelphia soul and R&B.“The whole era is something that I love,” said Healey. “Long before making ‘Twin Heavy’, I had always listened to funk, soul and R&B, but for some reason it never translated into my own music.

Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Orlando Weeks and House Gospel Choir added to the line-up.Wilderness Festival 2022 will take place at Cornbury Park near Charlbury, Oxfordshire between August 4 and August 7. Willie J Healey has shared a new single called ‘Fashun’ – you can listen to it below.The song is the latest preview of the Oxfordshire musician’s upcoming second album ‘Twin Heavy’, which is due to arrive on August 7.Following on from last release ‘True Stereo’, Healey has now also shared an accompanying video for his new single directed by Joe Wheatley.Speaking of the uplifting ‘Fashun’, the singer explained that the track came about during an “exciting” recording session in New York.“It was so fun, we didn’t speak about who would play what which made it really wild and I think we got ‘Fashun’ in two takes,” Healey said. “I’ll never forget the look in Loren’s [Humphrys, drummer/producer], eye while behind the kit.
