Underworld have released a new single called ‘Denver Luna’ – you can listen to it below.The electronic duo – comprising Karl Hyde and Rick Smith – shared an acapella rendition of the song last month. A statement at the time described the cut as “a departure from their universally recognised sound”.Now, the group have dropped the full eight-minute version of the track along with an official visualiser.Opening with atmospheric synths, ‘Denver Luna’ soon introduces a pounding kick drum as the tune builds with multiple vocal layers and dancing hi-hats.

It came as part of a new project called ‘Drift’ which saw the band release new music, art and text pieces weekly over the course of a year.Speaking about that album in more detail, the band explained that the project “expands and enhances a selection of the recordings” from the ‘Drift’ project and will see the band release more music in the space of a year than in the course of the last 15 years.The electronic duo formed in Cardiff in 1980; before ‘Drift Songs’ came ‘Barbara Barbara, We Face A Shining Future’ in 2016.

Cala Mijas 2023 has added three new artists to their festival lineup that will take place later this summer.M83, Underworld and Baxter Dury will join the previously announced performers The Strokes, Florence + the Machine, Arcade Fire, Moderat, Foals, Belle & Sebastian, Metronomy, IDLES and more.The festival will showcase both international and local talent on the Costa Del Sol in the south of Spain on August 31 – September 2.Baxter Dury is set to play on the festival’s opening day on Thursday, August 31. Jake Bugg has been announced as the final music headliner for this year’s Teenage Cancer Trust fundraiser concert series at London’s Royal Albert Hall.The Nottinghamshire singer-songwriter is booked for March 23, the night after Wet Leg take to the Hall’s iconic stage.Underworld top the bill on the Monday (March 20), The Courteeners on the Friday (March 24) and Kasabian closing out the show on the Saturday (March 25).
