Kasabian have teased the release of new music and an announcement coming next week.The Leicester rock band took to social media this week to share a six-second teaser video featuring a phone ringing from a ‘no caller ID’ number, soundtracked by a strong bass guitar line and steady snare drum beat.They captioned the post with a series of curious eye emojis and a date of 21/02, which is next Wednesday.

Liam Gallagher has reflected on Oasis’ split, claiming that his brother Noel “threw me under the fucking bus” at the time.The comments arose as part of a new joint interview between Britpop legends Liam Gallagher and John Squire – who recently joined forces for a new collaborative project, which they launched last week with the single ‘Just Another Rainbow’.In the discussion with The Guardian, Gallagher took a moment to reflect on the Manchester group’s 2009 break-up, and accuse his former bandmate Noel – along with Oasis’ manager Marcus Russell, as blaming him for the decision.According to the singer-songwriter, Noel had always intended to go solo but decided to blame the disbandment on Liam’s drinking rather than admit he wanted to leave the line-up.“If you want to do your little thing because you’re not getting enough attention, feel free, mate,” he said, referring to how Noel would often play solo acoustic shows between Oasis’ touring commitments. “I’ll go to Barbados and sit on a beach for six months, but don’t be pulling the plug on the band.

Kasabian have recalled their time meeting Sam Fender, and suggested that a collaboration with him is on the cards.The band opened up about their fondness for the Geordie singer-songwriter during a new interview, and recalled how they hit it off when they first met the musician.According to frontman Sergio Pizzorno, the members were first introduced to Fender backstage at TRNSMT festival in Scotland, and were immediately open to the idea of working together as they were fans of each other’s discography.“We hung out with him [Sam] and it was wild because he’s amazing,” Pizzorno told The Sun’s Bizarre column (via Music News). “What he’s done so quickly, he’s the real deal.”“Him and his guitarist were going, ‘Man, that first album [2004’s self-titled]!’… And I was like, ‘I’m a fan of yours!’,” he added.When asked about any chances of a collaboration in the future, the singer told the outlet that while nothing is confirmed just yet, “One day we hope to figure that out”.The interview with the outlet comes ahead of Kasabian releasing their upcoming eighth studio album ‘Happenings’ – which is scheduled to arrive later this summer, but does not yet have an exact release date.

Mel B has hit out at former Kasabian member Tom Meighan being eligible for the 2024 BRIT Awards, despite him being convicted of domestic assault.The Spice Girls singer voiced her disappointment in a statement to The Independent – saying that she feels let down by the decision to have a singer convicted of abuse being eligible to win a BRIT Award.It comes after Meighan was among the acts included on the form for the voting academy for the 2024 edition.Meighan parted ways with the Leicester group in July 2020, shortly before being charged with assaulting his partner Vikki Ager – who he married the following year. He was sentenced to 200 hours of unpaid work.The BRIT buzz comes following the release of his solo album, ‘The Reckoning’, and he is eligible for Album of the Year, British Rock/Alternative Act, and Artist of the Year at next year’s ceremony.“I am deeply disappointed that an organisation so highly respected within the music industry should make a choice like this,” Mel B told the outlet.“You have to think what kind of message are you sending out to people when crimes of violence against women can be committed and then that person could be rewarded as part of a massively high profile awards event.

Kasabian have announced a huge ‘Summer Solstice II’ show in their hometown of Leicester ahead of a new album, ‘Happenings’.The band will be performing at Leicester’s Victoria Park on Saturday July 6 with Kaiser Chiefs set to support. Kasabian have shared a new single called ‘The Wall’ – you can listen to it below.The song serves as the final preview of the Leicester band’s seventh album ‘The Alchemist’s Euphoria’, which is due to come out on August 12 via Columbia.Arriving today (July 29), ‘The Wall’ finds frontman Serge Pizzorno in an introspective mood as he sings about “regret” and “getting old” over a stripped-back, piano-led instrumental. “Why’d you do it, why’d you have to lose control?” he croons.The reflective ballad later introduces twinkling keys in the breakdown before Pizzorno escapes the “dark clouds inside my head“.
