Karren Brady slams government for 'damaging NHS' with 'insulting' nurse wages amid strikes

The Apprentice star Baroness Karren Brady, 53, has slammed the tories over the way they have handled the strikes carried out by nurses across the country this week. The business executive has even claimed that the government are “damaging the NHS” with their actions.A staggering 100,000 nurses are estimated to be striking this week for the first time in the history of the NHS. Baroness Brady began by pointing out how ironic it was that we were clapping for those same nurses during the pandemic, as she argued that they now feel “betrayed” after all they have done for this country. She went on to praise the “selfless angels” for their tireless efforts, before noting the “damage” the government was causing to the NHS by not giving them a substantial pay rise. “While staff in different hospitals have made different decisions about striking, I’m certain they are all in total agreement that the Government’s 4.3 per cent pay offer isn’t only insulting, but actually damaging to the NHS,” she penned in her latest column. Baroness Brady noted that, while the demand for a 19 per cent pay rise might be “unrealistic”, the nurses are mainly interested in being “treated with respect”. She added that the Scottish Government was able to prevent strike action with “a sensible offer of between 7.5 and 11 per cent.”The entrepreneur also pointed out that the NHS is a “special case” when it comes to this month’s strike action, and called on Prime Minister Rishi Sunak to take the issue seriously. “The desperately low morale of the people we rely on to prop it up is endangering its very existence,” she warned.

Jeremy Clarkson says NHS ‘has to go’ in order to save country from 'right old pickle'
Jeremy examines the state of the economy, whilst establishing that he is first and foremost “not an economist”. Yet individuals do not have to be an expert in economics to understand that heating bills are increasing as well as high inflation rates.Jeremy bluntly puts the state of the current economy down to individuals thinking that the government has access to a “magic money tree” which can be harvested in times of need.In his characteristic no nonsense way of thinking, Jeremy went on to question the qualifications of new chancellor, Kwasi Kwarteng.Having numerous degrees to his name, one of which is in economic history, was not enough to convince Jeremy that he was good enough for the job, rather that he just “liked university life”.“I have a certificate that says I can do Teeline shorthand at 110 words a minute, but that doesn’t mean I should be entrusted with writing Hansard every day,” Jeremy wrote in The Times.Instead Jeremy is of the opinion that economics is “un-understandable” and “un-runnable” and without the use of some miracle magic crystal ball is based completely on guess work.Having established his opinion on the state of the economy and the people who are in charge of managing it, Jeremy then provided his personal solutions to the problems the government is currently facing. He wrote: “So to solve the economy what we need to do is make sensible cuts in all government departments, cutting their staffing levels by, say, half.“And then, rather than reducing them still further to the point where they don’t work at all, we get rid of one entire department altogether.“Many people are now saying that we should rid the country of the monarchy because this ancient institution is no longer relevant.
