Loose Women star Katie Piper, 37, has taken to social media this morning to thank the NHS, hours after she underwent an emergency procedure on her oesophagus.The mum-of-two's throat closed up and she began to suffer from spasms.In view of her 296,000 followers, Katie shared a candid photo from her hospital bed.She began: "So, last night I choked on food which led to spasms in my oesophagus, which meant it closed up, meaning I couldn’t swallow even my own saliva and ended up in A&E for an emergency procedure on my oesophagus."The small-screen star assured her fans that she is doing much better, before she was inundated with messages of support.Katie added: "But out now and on the mend.Thanks so much to the NHS docs/nurses!"The Loose Women.
