Emmerdale star spent eight days in hospital after nasty injury during filming

Emmerdale actor Clive Hornby spent eight days in hospital after a filming accident left him with a collapsed lung.The actor, who was known for playing Jack Sugden in the long running ITV soap for 28 years, was filming a scene involving a tractor when things went wrong. Clive played the role from 1980 until his death in 2008, taking over from Andrew Burt who had portrayed the character from 1972 until 1976. Following the horror accident, he later recalled: "It's all right now but it made me realise that I never wanted to spend eight days again in a hospital.
