Pom Klementieff took her role in Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One very seriously.

The 37-year-old actress plays Paris in the seventh installment of the film franchise, and in a new interview, revealed that she looked to the avian world for inspiration. She told Hola! that Paris is “mysterious, strange, and a little bit insane” and said turning to a bird called the shoebill stork (which still exists) was what made her part different. “I was doing some research on Youtube and I found this pre-historic bird that is called the shoebill stork,” she says. “I kept thinking I was this bird.

It looks crazy. The beak is insane.” Pom also spoke about the movie as a whole, saying that “as an audience member I was blown away when I watched the movie.” “I was just trying to process what I had watched.
