Carin León Unveils International Tour Dates Ahead of Stagecoach Debut

Thania Garcia Música Mexicana artist Carin León has announced his international “Boca Chueca Tour,” slated for this fall. León will kickoff the trek later this year after making debut appearances at both Coachella and Stagecoach. The “Boca Chueca Tour” will hit major cities across North America and Europe, including a night at Madison Square Garden in New York City, two nights at the United Center in Chicago, Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Coca-Cola Coliseum in Toronto, and BMO Stadium in Los Angeles.

Talking Heads’ ‘Stop Making Sense’ is returning to cinemas again
Talking Heads‘ classic concert film Stop Making Sense is returning to cinemas, it has been announced.Last year, A24 released a remastered 4K version of the 1984 movie on the big screen to mark its 40th anniversary. The iconic band also reunited at a special screening as part of the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival.Now, it’s been confirmed that the revamped edition of Stop Making Sense will be heading back to cinemas in various locations next Saturday (January 27).In a post on social media yesterday (January 17), A24 said that “monthly residency screenings” are scheduled in “select cities” including London, New York, Los Angeles, Austin, Chicago, San Francisco and Toronto.Additionally, fans will be able to buy a collector’s edition Blu-ray of Stop Making Sense at every showing as well as new special merchandise.You can purchase tickets and find more information here, and check out the announcement post below.A post shared by A24 (@a24)An official synopsis reads: “Newly restored in 4K to coincide with its 40th anniversary, the 1984 film was directed by renowned filmmaker Jonathan Demme and is considered by critics as the greatest concert film of all time.“Stop Making Sense stars core band members David Byrne, Tina Weymouth, Chris Frantz, and Jerry Harrison along with Bernie Worrell, Alex Weir, Steve Scales, Lynn Mabry and Edna Holt.”It adds: “The live performance was shot over the course of three nights at Hollywood’s Pantages Theater in December of 1983 and features Talking Heads’ most memorable songs.”Last month saw A24 announce a Stop Making Sense tribute album, which will feature a cover of Talking Heads’ ‘Burning Down The House’ by Paramore.

Huw Stephens and Steve Lamacq to take BBC 6 Music shows on the road for Independent Venue Week 2024
Huw Stephens and Steve Lamacq will present their BBC 6 Music Shows from a different grassroots venue every day of Independent Venue Week.Lamacq was joined by Stephens on the first instalment of his new weekly Teatime Session, which airs on Mondays from 4-7pm, to announce the initiative in celebration of the UK’s weeklong event to recognise the importance of independent music venues.Between January 29 and February 2, the presenters will be hitting the road to broadcast their shows from grassroots venues across the country and will also host performances from different artists each day.Lamacq will host from Oh Yeah Music Centre in Belfast on January 29 ahead of an Independent Venue Week performance from Ash.Stephens will be presenting his show from Edinburgh’s Whistle Binkies on January 30, where 86TVs will perform later that night; The Fulford Arms in York on January 31 ahead of a gig from NewDad; Polar Bear Music Club in Hull on February 1 where English Teacher will be playing; The Rockin’ Chair in Wrexham (Friday 2nd February) before a live set from Antony Szmierek.Those artists will join Lamacq and Stephens for intimate live performances and interviews across the week.Listeners can attend two exclusive intimate live performances with Ash in Belfast on January 29 and Antony Szmierek in Wrexham on February 2.
