Shotts GP forced to suspend online service as pressure on practice increases to 'critical level'

An under pressure GP practice in Shotts closed its online triage scheme sparking fears in the community that patients won’t be able to get the medical care they may need.Burnbrae Medical Practice has been utilising the askmyGP service to prioritise medical care but a message posted on its Facebook page revealed it was pulling the service until November 15 due to “clinical capacity” being at a “critical level”.The practice is run by Doctor Susan Arnott who in 2017 was recognised for excellence in service innovation at local level and awarded the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh’s William Cullen Prize.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
