The mum of a man feared murdered and dumped in a pond or landfill site has begged detectives to keep probing the case. Robert Duff, then aged 37, was on the way to his daughter’s 18th birthday party when he vanished in 2013.
The dad was formally reported missing and an inquiry was launched - but it was five years before the Metropolitan Police declared the investigation as a murder.
The force then searched a pond in Hampstead Heath in north London last year after receiving a tip his body was dumped in the water, reports the Daily Record.
