After 11 months in a coma, teenager Joe Flavill knew nothing of the devastating coronavirus pandemic which gripped the world.
Until now, that is. For the 19-year-old has finally woken up and is engaging with family and friends with blinks and smiles.
After being hit by a car while walking on March 1 last year, Joe suffered a severe brain injury and remained in hospital since.
And now his family, who are thrilled with this progress, face another tough task, as they try to figure out how to explain the changes seen in the UK since the pandemic began, bringing him up to speed with social distancing, lockdowns - and more.
