North Korea has broken its silence on Russia's war on Ukraine and has pointed the blame at the US. A researcher from the secretive state had his alternative take on the frightening invasion published by North Korea's foreign ministry website on Saturday (February 26).Rather than address the matter of an unprovoked storming of another sovereign country, Ri Ji-song implied it is the consequence of the United States' foreign policy.
The researcher from the Society for International Politics Study said America's pursuit of "military supremacy" gave little thought towards Russia's security concerns.Mr Ji-song's accusations of "high-handedness and arbitrariness" from Washington are North Korea's first public remarks of Ukraine coming under fire from the ground and air.He said: "The root cause of the Ukrainian crisis also lies in the high-handedness and arbitrariness of the U.S.
which has held on solely to the unilateral sanction and pressure while pursuing only global hegemony and military supremacy in disregard of the legitimate demand of Russia for its security." According to the researcher, global media NATO's expansion must also shoulder responsibility for the lives lost in Ukraine.The breaking of peace in Europe this week equally signifies the end of "double standards" America as the world's leading superpower, Ji-song rattled on.
