U2's Adam Clayton and his wife Mariana Teixeira de Carvalho have split, ending their marriage of over a decade in an amicable split.

A representative for the couple shared the news with the Sunday World, confirming that they had parted ways. The duo, who tied the knot back in September 2013, share a six year old daughter named Alba.

In a statement, a spokesperson for the couple said: "After more than 10 years of marriage, musician Adam Clayton and lawyer Mariana Teixeira de Carvalho have amicably divorced." It continued: "Both will continue to be fully involved in the care of their daughter and they request that the family's privacy be respected.", reports RSVP Live.

U2's bassist Adam, 64, and Mariana, a lawyer, had married in a low-key ceremony at a Dublin registry office in September 2013, after four years together.Their wedding festivities were marked by a lavish celebration with 150 guests, including Adam's U2 bandmates Bono, The Edge, and Larry, at a historic French chateau near Cannes. The couple welcomed their daughter Alba in July 2017, with the arrival of their little one announced through a personal advertisement in The Irish Times, which read: "Adam and Mariana Clayton are delighted to announce the birth of their beautiful baby girl Alba." Like his bandmates, Adam tends to keep his personal private, but made a rare revelation about Mariana at the MusiCares MAP Fund event in June 2017.
