Met Office say 'snow is coming' as 10 inch dumping revealed for one day next week

Met Office has warned that snow is on the way for many Brits, with a 10 inch dumping set to land on one day next week.The forecaster has said that "wintry showers" can be expected in the north in hilly areas today and later this week, but more will be on the way after that.In their long range forecast spanning from Saturday February 12 to Monday February 21, they warn that a "frosty" weekend will be followed by widespread "unsettled conditions"."Some snow is expected over northern hills, and temperatures becoming average to mild for many areas," they continue.

Advanced weather model maps from WX Charts reveal the full extend of next week's snow bomb. From next Wednesday (February 16), they show that up to 10 inches of the white stuff will settle on the ground in the Scottish Highlands.Northern Ireland and England's North West will also see flurries and a centimetre or two on the ground next week, with snow set to fall too in Wales.

With snow inevitably comes chilly temperatures, and WX Charts reckon the mercury will dip as low as -5C in Scotland this Friday, and may struggle to reach over 1C or 2C for all of next week.

Northern Ireland and the North West will be a few notches warmer, with -1C forecast there on Friday. According to Netweather, fierce winds could also contribute to a more chilly feel next week.
