UK weather forecast as Met Office issues amber weather warning for parts of northern England

It's set to be wet and windy across the UK this week as two storms sweep the country, complete with an amber weather warning from the Met Office.

Storm Dudley will cross the northern half of the UK on Wednesday night and into Thursday morning, while Storm Eunice will bring strong winds and potentially some snow for parts of the country on Friday.

The weather warnings - one yellow and one amber - have been issued for large parts of northern England and Scotland on Wednesday night and Thursday morning. The yellow weather warning has been extnedned to cover the whole of England, Wales and Northern Ireland on Friday. Meanwhile a more severe amber warning for wind has been issued for parts of the North East, Cumbria and northern Lancashire, parts of Yorkshire and Humber, northern Northern Ireland, and south and central Scotland.
