A former Chief Scientific Advisor has warned that England's track and trace system is not working well enough to ease lockdown.

Sir David King, who advised Tony Blair and Gordon Brown, set up the Independent SAGE group of scientists to issue scientific advice about the handling of the coronavirus publicly Independent SAGE has warned that it is extremely concerned that the Government's Test and Trace system was picking up contacts from only 25% of people infected by "The Government's own SAGE committee says that 80% of the contacts of all symptomatic cases must be found and isolated in order to stop the virus spreading further," it said.
