Students who believed there was an active shooter at their school sent goodbye messages to their parents saying "I love you." On Monday Crawley College was thrown into chaos when gunshots fired out at 10.30am.
While two members of staff managed to tackle the suspect and no one was seriously hurt in the incident, teacher barricaded students terrified of being shot in their classrooms.
As they waited in fear many made emotionally charged calls and sent heart-breaking messages to their parents. Sharon Brumwell feared the worst after receiving a text from her daughter Ruby simply saying: "I love you", the BBC reported.
