A baby was born in a cemetery car park after an expectant mum’s 5am dash to hospital came to a quick halt.Robert Keller, 37, made an emergency stop where wife Constanze gave birth in a three-minute delivery.Mum Constanze Rose-Keller, 30, was only 10 minutes away from Oban’s Lorn and Islands Hospital with a midwife following behind, when she told Robert to stop the car at Pennyfuir cemetery car park last Saturday morning.Next thing they knew, the couple, who live in Taynuilt, near Oban, were the proud parents of a second daughter.Constanze, who gave birth in the front seat of the family’s Skoda car, said: “On the way to the hospital my husband said ‘Do we have to stop?’ and I said ‘no’.“Two minutes later I said ‘we have to stop’.“Kirsty Smith, the midwife, told me she called the ambulance at 5.07am and Emilia was probably born at 5.08am.“From stopping the car to the baby being born it was maybe three minutes.” Mum and baby Emilia Johanna, who weighed 6.7lb, were fine after the superfast delivery.Constanze said: “The midwife was there straight away, she was amazing, she opened the door and helped me to take the seat belt off and pull down my trousers.

One push and my daughter was there. “The ambulance was there quickly and took me to hospital where another midwife Eva Casson-du Mont, did all the checks. “They were all amazing, we were back home for breakfast at 8.20am.

Robert was very cool too. He drove very calmly and he even asked me if he had to drive slower.“I said ‘Don’t you dare drive any slower’.
