‘Snow White’ Producer’s Son Says Rachel Zegler Voicing Her ‘Personal Politics’ ‘Hurt the Film’s Box Office’ in Since-Deleted Instagram Post
William Earl Jonah Platt, the son of “Snow White” producer Marc Platt, has laid blame for the Disney remake’s lackluster box office performance on its star Rachel Zegler, who he accused of “narcissism” for “dragging her personal politics into the middle of promoting a movie.” The 38-year-old Platt, best known as the host of the podcast “Being Jewish” and to film and television audiences for his two-episode role in Netflix’s “Uncoupled” and his performance as Tip Tribby in “Being the Ricardos,” posted a since-deleted response to an Instagram commenter that had shared reporting that Platt’s father flew to New York City to “reprimand” Zegler during the film’s promotional cycle. Per a Variety report, producer Marc Platt’s meeting with the film’s star was a failed attempt to get the actor to delete a social media post reading “and always remember, free palestine.” “Yeah, my dad, the producer of enormous piece of Disney IP with hundreds of millions of dollars on the line, had to leave his family to to fly across the country to reprimand his 20 year old employee for dragging her personal politics into the middle of promoting the movie for which she signed a multi-million dollar contract to get paid and do publicity for,” Jonah Platt wrote.
