Jolt Streaming Platform Adds Titles Including ‘Girl Climber,’ ‘Anxiety Club,’ ‘Cathedral’ and Doc ‘Can’t Look Away’ (EXCLUSIVE)

Lauren Coates Jolt, an AI-driven streaming platform connecting independent films with audiences, has unveiled its latest slate of films, including the premiere of the documentary “Can’t Look Away: The Case Against Social Media.” Other films coming to Jolt include Jon Glassberg’s “Girl Climber,” which follows free climber Emily Harrington, Wendy Lobel’s comedy-drama “Anxiety Club” and Dan Algrant’s “Cathedrals,” which chronicles Algrant’s journey to reconnect with a pair of filmmakers he worked with nearly 50 years prior. Jolt works to create a “new industry standard by transforming the way independent films are distributed and restoring creative sovereignty to filmmakers,” according to a press release.

TV Critics Association Cancels Summer Press Tour

The TCA had previously also canceled its winter event due to low interest from networks and studios; this time, the org said once again there would not be a tour “after much discussion and negotiation.” The fate of the TCA press tour has been the focus of much conversation due to the spotty nature of the event in recent years. As networks and studios have pulled back on supporting the once-vibrant twice-a-year tours, the COVID-19 pandemic and the dual 2023 Hollywood strikes also put the tour on frequent pause.
