Nintendo Switch 2 went live earlier today (April 4) at a number of UK retailers – and they’ve already sold out.The Switch 2 was first announced earlier this year in a hardware-focused teaser trailer and Nintendo revealed more about the console this week during a hour-long Direct presentation. The Nintendo Switch 2 is due for release June 5 and will cost £395.99.

To try and stop scalpers getting hold of the console and reselling it for inflated prices, the official Nintendo store will prioritise players who have racked up more than 50 hours on the original Switch and have an active Nintendo membership when pre-orders go live next week (April 8).However a number of UK retailers put their Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders live earlier today, and many have already sold.

Toy company Smyths, shopping site Very and Argos are currently displaying out of stock messages on their respective websites, while Currys is only taking pre-orders in stores for the time being.Amazon is also hosting an invitation-only pre-order system, with those chosen from the lottery given 22 hours to purchase a Switch 2.
