TV Critics Association Cancels Summer Press Tour

The TCA had previously also canceled its winter event due to low interest from networks and studios; this time, the org said once again there would not be a tour “after much discussion and negotiation.” The fate of the TCA press tour has been the focus of much conversation due to the spotty nature of the event in recent years.

As networks and studios have pulled back on supporting the once-vibrant twice-a-year tours, the COVID-19 pandemic and the dual 2023 Hollywood strikes also put the tour on frequent pause. “Conversations about organizing summer tour have been ongoing since the summer of 2024,” the org wrote to members. “Every network, studio, and streaming platform was contacted about presenting, and the TCA Board met with all in February.
