Nikita Kuzmin has reunited with his loving grandma in the heart of Poland after she escaped Ukraine by "walking five miles in the freezing cold." Over the past few weeks, the Strictly Come Dancing star has been updating his loyal legion of fans about the safety of his family living in the war-torn country.
But the 24-year-old happily confirmed to his 120,000 fans that his elderly family member had safely fled the country following the invasion by Russian forces.The loving grandson shared a sweet selfie as he smiled while he sat beside his grandmother as he explained her challenging journey to the Polish border.Nikita explained how he had met his mother at a train station in the Polish city of Krakow where his elderly relative was forced to walk for miles to escape Kyiv amid the devastating war.He explained how she could "barely walk" most days but somehow summoned the strength to carry on as she escaped the capital which has been under siege for weeks.The ballroom dancer shared a lengthy caption detailing her journey as he shared the reality behind the relieving pics online.He began: "REUNITED [love heart emoji] picked up my grandma from Poland!
She is so incredible brave & strong, 2 nights without sleeping, walking 8km+ in the freezing cold, when on a normal day, she can barely walk!"The star explained how he had driven to Krakow from Frankfurt in Germany, while his mother had flown from Rome, Italy in order to meet their family member.Although he confessed how he was "just so happy to be together" explained before he noted how there was still heartbreak behind their sweet reunion.Nikita added: "Unfortunately still have my aunt, grandma and grandpa in Kiev," as he explained how he had been "immersed" in the ongoing.
