Good Morning Britain viewers have thanked Martin Lewis for grilling the health secretary, Sajid Javid on Monday (21 March). The financial expert, who is filling in for Richard Madeley, took his time to ask key questions about how the government would support the most vulnerable, low income households and medically disabled with the rising cost of energy prices.
Energy prices are set to soar in April by over 50%, as the price of fuel increases after Russia's invasion of Ukraine led to the UK cutting its Russian fuel supply.
Martin, 49, apologised for urging the health minister to put forward vital changes in government over the issue, saying: "Forgive me if I just broke the rules there...
It was a campaigning call, but I just hope I didn't break some broadcasting regulations by stepping the line, but I did think it was important." ITV viewers took to Twitter to praise the TV presenter for his tireless campaigning for more financial support for struggling households.
