Sam Underhill has been likened to World Cup winner Richard Hill as he drives England on towards their second trophy of the autumn.
The Bath flanker was hailed as a 2021 Lions “shoo-in” by Sam Warburton after his man of the match display against Wales. And last night team mate Jamie George credited the 24-year-old with forcing up standards in the England side and “leading the way” in terms of their physicality.
England are not getting high marks for artistic impression during an autumn campaign in which the sport is suffering as a spectacle from referees not allowing a meaningful contest at the breakdown.
But Eddie Jones’ side have adapted to what is required, winning the Six Nations and moving to within 80 minutes of Nations Cup glory.
