Wilde, whose filmmaking credits include “Booksmart” and “Don’t Worry Darling,” is attached to direct the feature film, which will be produced by Robbie’s company LuckyChap and her partners Tom Ackerley and Josie McNamara. Kinberg, a writer and producer of “X-Men” tentpoles, will also produce the film.

Now comes a small but noteworthy update from Francis Lawrence, the 2005 film’s director who is set to return alongside Reeves for the sequel. It turns out a script for “Constantine 2” still does not exist (it got held up by the WGA strike, which is now over), but the two men and original producer Akiva Goldsman are hashing out the story.

“I Am Legend 2” is expected to follow up with the original movie’s alternate ending. In addition, the sequel is said to be set several years after the 2007 film. “This will start a few decades later than the first,” producer Akiva Goldsman previously told Deadline of the movie..“I’m obsessed with The Last of Us, where we see the world just post-apocalypse but also after a 20-30-year lapse.

But ahead of the show’s release, critics were asked not to disclose the fractured mental state of Danny Sullivan, the Milligan analog played with doe-eyed naiveté of Tom Holland. This puzzled me, given the eminently Googleable nature of the premise. Then I started watching.
