Written, produced and starring Davidson, “Bupkis” immerses audiences into a “surrealist” adaptation of Davidson’s life with the help of a star-studded call sheet, including Joe Pesci, Brad Garrett, John Mulaney, Sebastian Stan, Ray Romano and more. “Bupkis” opens with a caricature of the celebrity as he takes a moment to “unwind” in the basement of his family home. Davidson throws on a pair of VR goggles, presses play on an immersive pornographic video and in a moment of pleasure — and soon-to-be distress — his mother, played by Edie Falco, walks in as he reaches his climax.

SNL alum Pete Davidson’s Bupkis, a comedy series inspired by his life, has a premiere date at Peacock. All eight episodes of the comedy which he wrote, executive produced and stars in, will drop on Thursday, May 4 on the streamer.

Angelique Jackson Following their collaboration on “I Want You Back,” Amazon Studios is re-teaming with filmmakers Jason Orley and Isaac Aptaker on a yet-to-be-titled comedy. Orley will direct the new project from a script by Aptaker, based on a story they wrote. While plot details are being kept under wraps for the film, Amazon Studios landed the project in a preemptive deal based on the success of “I Want You Back,” from Orley, Aptaker and producer Elizabeth Berger. Aptaker and Berger will produce the new film via their The Walk-Up Company production banner, with the company’s head of development Adam Londy executive producing alongside Orley.

Peacock’s Pete Davidson comedy series Bupkis has added six guest stars for its premiere season: Charlie Day (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia), Ray Romano (Get Shorty), Kenan Thompson (Saturday Night Live), Brad Garrett (Everybody Loves Raymond), Chase Sui Wonders (Bodies, Bodies, Bodies) and Simon Rex (Red Rocket).
