Russian students have been made to take part in what has been described as a frightening Nazi-style flash mob. According to reports, students of the Kazan State Institute were forced to participate in the flash mob in support of the Russian army in Ukraine.

Students who refused to participate needed to have an explanatory note detailing the reason why they could not take part.In the sickening video, students can be seen chanting and fist-pumping the air while dressed in white clothing with the Z symbol painted on them – the symbol used by Russian forces fighting in Ukraine.Russia's defence ministry posted on Instagram last week saying that the symbol came from the Russian За победу, which begins with a "Z" sound and means "for the victory".Twitter users were horrified with the video, with one writing: "Watching this video of saluting youths in a shopping mall in Kazan wearing the Z Russian army logo side and then looking at the photographs coming out of Mariupol and it’s hard not to feel sick."A second commented: "I think my Jewish DNA has my brain completely overwhelmed.

I really don’t have words."To stay up to date with all the latest news, make sure you sign up for one of our newsletters here.A third tweeted: "Heil Hitler" alongside a vomit emoji, while another added: "F***, it's like during Soviet times."One user argues that the Russian people should stand up to Putin and refuse to take part in his war plans, writing: "Sucks to be Russian.
