OUR Yorkshire Farm’s Amanda Owen was forced to give her kids ‘bad news’ after a disaster at Ravenseat. The Yorkshire Shepherdess lives on the remote farm with her husband Clive and their nine children, with their antics being documented on the Channel 5 show.
Ravenseat is often battered by the elements, and one particularly freezing night caused chaos for the family. Writing in her latest book, Amanda said: "We had another big problem, no running water in the farmhouse. "I've got a weather station in the farmyard and could see that the temperature had dropped to -12C during the night. "Our water system is piped down from a natural spring further up the moor and we worried that the water in the pipes would freeze." As well as needing water for her family, Amanda and Clive also need the spring's supplies for their livestock, which includes 1000 sheep, 40 cows, six dogs and four horses.
Amanda recalled how the family were woken up at 4am by one of their cows making noise. @font-face{font-family:'The Sun';src:url('/assets/fonts/the-sun/TheSun-Regular.woff2') format('woff2'),url('/assets/fonts/the-sun/TheSun-Regular.woff') format('woff'),url('/assets/fonts/the-sun/TheSun-Regular.ttf') format('truetype'),url('/assets/fonts/the-sun/TheSun-Regular.svg#') format('svg');font-style:normal;font-weight:400;font-display:swap;}@font-face{font-family:'The Sun';src:url('/assets/fonts/the-sun/TheSun-Medium.woff2') format('woff2'),url('/assets/fonts/the-sun/TheSun-Medium.woff') format('woff'),url('/assets/fonts/the-sun/TheSun-Medium.ttf') format('truetype'),url('/assets/fonts/the-sun/TheSun-Medium.svg#') format('svg');font-style:normal;font-weight:500;font-display:swap;}@font-face{font-family:'The.
