Wes Anderson’s new film, The Phoenician Scheme, has unveiled an action-packed trailer at CinemaCon in Las Vegas.The film stars Benicio del Toro and Mia Threapleton as a father and daughter struggling to overcome their difficult relationship. Unusually for the director, known for quirky comedy, the trailer shown to the convention crowd featured a lot of combat.

Jordan Moreau HBO’s “The Last of Us” Season 2 will release on April 13, the company announced Wednesday. After Season 1 covered the events of PlayStation’s first hit video game, Season 2 will follow the sequel “The Last of Us: Part II.” Like the sequel, Season 2 takes place after a five-year time jump and follows an even more grizzled Joel and Ellie as they face off against more fungal, zombie clickers. New cast members this season include Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, Isabela Merced as Dina, Young Mazino as Jesse, Ariela Barer as Mel, Tati Gabrielle as Nora, Spencer Lord as Owen, and Danny Ramirez as Manny.

Cannes Film Festival bow, which could see Tom Cruise injecting some serious star power into the event. Paramount, which declined to comment for this article, will be releasing the movie in theaters on May 21, which falls during the second week of the festival.

James Gunn has defended the delay to The Batman 2, saying such a gap between films is “fairly common”.On Friday (December 27), the studio, which is a division of Warner Bros., announced that the much-anticipated sequel had been pushed back another year, with a new release date of October 1, 2027.That was just the latest delay for the film, which had initially been slated for an October 2024 release. Last year’s SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes then led to the movie being postponed to October 2026, and now fans will have an extra 12 months to wait.Some fans expressed their disappointment at the delay, but Gunn has come to the film’s defence in a post on Threads. “To be fair, a 5 year gap or more is fairly common in sequels,” he wrote.
