Manchester United boss Van Gaal recently revealed he had been diagnosed with an aggressive form of the cancer. The Dutchman is a legend of the game, following spells at Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Ajax.
He recently led the Netherlands to qualification for this winter's World Cup in Qatar, finishing top of their group. Van Gaal will leave that role after the World Cup though and recently said that he hide the news of his diagnosis from his players.But thankfully, Van Gaal has now revealed that his treatment is progressing well following 25 radiation treatments.
The 70-year-old will have to wait for several months to find out if it worked."I've been through everything. I had 25 radiation treatments.
Then I had to wait five or six months to see if it had done its job. It did," Van Gaal told Dutch news agency ANP of his treatment.Van Gaal will lead his country at football's showpiece event in the Middle East.
