Will there be a ‘Toxic Town’ season two?
Netflix series Toxic Town.Written by Jack Thorne (His Dark Materials), the series follows a group of mothers who are fighting for justice after a link is discovered between toxic waste in the town and their children being born with defects.Jodie Whittaker and Aimee Lou Wood lead the cast, alongside Robert Carlyle, Rory Kinnear, Joe Dempsie, Brendan Coyle, Claudia Jessie and Lauren Lyle.Toxic Town is produced by Charlie Brooker and Annabel Jones’ production company Broke & Bones, with Minkie Spiro serving as director.Netflix has not announced any plans for a second season. The show was originally billed as a miniseries, so it’s highly unlikely a second season will be commissioned. The story of the Corby scandal was also concluded across the show’s four episodes, so there’s little reason for the show to continue unless it tackles another case entirely. The true story behind Toxic Town is often described as the English version of Erin Brockovich, a paralegal who was instrumental in building a case against Pacific Gas & Electric Company in relation to water contamination in Hinkley, California. This case was covered in the 2000 biographical film Erin Brockovich with Julia Roberts in the lead role, who won an Oscar for her performance. As for other similar cases, 2019 film Dark Waters is a dramatised version of Robert Bilott’s case against the chemical manufacturing company DuPont.

Meghan Markle’s Netflix show viewership is in — and it’s lower than 2022’s ‘Harry & Meghan’
eight-part series “With Love, Meghan,” has earned lower viewership numbers than her 2022 series “Harry & Meghan.”New figures appear to suggest that viewers prefer seeing the Duchess of Sussex on-screen with her husband, Prince Harry, rather than solo. The “Suits” alum, 43, premiered her cooking show March 4. And while it managed to find a way into Netflix’s Top 10 list, streaming figures show a stark contrast between her solo venture and her joint tell-all series alongside the Duke of Sussex, the Daily Mail reports.“With Love, Meghan” — a series that shows the mom of two offer a “how-to guide” for entertaining — racked up 526,000 households in the first five days it was available, according to data obtained by Samba TV.By comparison, Meghan and Harry’s 2022 series drew 2.1 million households in the same number of days, the data showed.Markle’s latest project proved to be most successful among viewers aged 45 to 54.As for geographical success, “With Love, Meghan” was most successful in the Baltic states: Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia. While the show did trend in the US, UK and Canada for a few days, it slid down the Top 10 list after three days, and officially fell off the list over the weekend.Still, it appears as though Netflix was chuffed with the streaming numbers “With Love, Meghan” raked in, as it said last week the show has been greenlit for Season 2.The Sussexes signed a $100 million deal with the streamer in 2020.
