This is the first picture of a 14-year-old schoolgirl who died after being hit by a car leaving her "devastated" family in "shock".
The teen, named locally as Courtney Ellis, was struck by the vehicle in a neighbourhood in St Helens, Merseyside, at about 9.50pm on Sunday.
She was rushed to hospital, where she died a short time later. On the night she was killed, Courtney's school uniform "was hung up ready for (Monday) morning", her heartbroken aunt Joanne Schofield said.
Merseyside Police said two men, aged 18 and 19, were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after the collision and were being held for questioning.
