Arsenal player when he was a kid has left the club's fans bemused because of his age. Despite only being born in 2000, Smith Rowe named Dutch playmaker Dennis Bergkamp as his favourite player growing up when speaking to BT Sport.Bergkamp spent 11 years in north London before he retired in the summer of 2006 at the age of 37, shortly before Smith Rowe himself turned six-years-old.This has left fans confused and questioning whether or not the 21-year-old midfielder really did idolise Bergkamp during his youth or if he is lying.Smith Rowe stars in a recent BT Sport video titled 'My Football Idol', in which a number of Premier League stars reveal the players they admired growing up.“My favourite player for Arsenal growing up was Dennis Bergkamp," explains Smith Rowe.However, fans have since taken to social media to question his choice, due to the age he was when Bergkamp was playing for the Gunners.One fan tweeted: “Emile Smith Rowe has said his favourite Arsenal player to watch growing up was Dennis Bergkamp… He was five when Bergkamp left Arsenal.”Who was your favourite footballer growing up?
