He has been out of work ever since that statement, but appears to have now been handed a route back into the world of football.Overmars has been announced as the new technical director of Royal Antwerp.
It is stated that the Belgian side consider his departure from Ajax a 'private matter' and are instead focused on his 'enormous track record' as an executive at the Dutch giants.Antwerp are hoping that Overmars can lead them into a new period of sustained success, having last won the Belgian title in 1957.
