Met Office has teased that the UK's scorching weather could continue into May with another heatwave on the horizon. Brits have been lapping up the sun in recent days as an Easter weekend blast saw the hottest day of the year so far, with 22C recorded at St James' Park in London on April 15.

Fortunately, it seems like we'll be getting more of such days in the coming weeks following a dip in temperatures this week.

In their long range forecast for May 2 to May 16 the Met Office say that "temperatures are most likely to be above normal". They add: "Turning more settled, with most likely a good deal of fine and dry weather for the remainder of the period, although there is still a chance of some brief unsettled spells at times."Netweather agree that the start of May could provide a sizzler.

They say that "temperatures will probably be slightly above normal in the West" and "sunshine [will be] above normal in the north-west of Britain."The average daytime temperature in London for May is 18C meaning that we could be back into the low twenties in just two weeks' time.
