Eminem was just a 26-year-old trying to become a rapper, Chas and Dave helped his major hit become a Grammy award-winning rap song.

Chas - who passed away in 2018 aged 74 - and his music partner Dave both featured on Eminem's 1999 breakthrough hit My Name Is.The hit song's catchy guitar line was all Chas' doing, while the bouncing bassline was Dave.The duo made a huge name for themselves in the 80s as jobbing session players.In 1975, the pair - whose career spanned over 40 years - played guitar and bass on the track titled 'I’ve Got The…' by musician Labi Siffre.Eminem opted to take the sample - which is just under three minutes long - and insert it into his own hit.There's MUCH more where that came from!
