A mum who has lost all of hair due to an autoimmune condition has revealed how she has passed the hair loss gene down to her three-year-old son.
Shannen Earlem, 25, first started losing patches of hair as a child,but it wasn't until March 2018 when all of her body hell fell out that she was diagnosed with alopecia universalis (AU), a condition in which the immune system mistakenly attacks the hair follicles.
The mum-of-two has since learned that her son Tommy, three, who has been diagnosed with alopecia areata (AA) - which follows a similar pattern, but in which full regrowth is more common.
