Wetherspoons issue apology after transgender teenager refused service in pub

Pub giant Wetherspoons has apologised after a transgender teenager was refused service at one of its venues in Glasgow. Savanna Galloway, 19, said she was left in tears after the the incident at The Counting House in the city centre on Tuesday.

Two staff members refused to serve her alcohol, saying her passport picture did not resemble her after asking her to prove her age.

Ms Galloway had already gained entry into the pub with friends after showing her passport to door staff and explaining she was transgender, Glasgow Live reports.

After ordering drinks on an app, the barman delivering drinks to the table asked to see her ID, and then told her "that's not you" before sending for a manager, who then reiterated the barman's comments that
