London petrol station's fuel costs surge to £2.20 a litre amid Russia invasion

Russia and Ukraine crisis. Last week President Vladimir Putin ordered his troops to invade Ukraine as tensions escalated between the two countries.

This has impacted Britain's fuel prices with costs for petrol and diesel reaching a new high across the country. And costs to fill up are so high with one London petrol station charging an eye-watering 219.5p per litre.

Figures from data firm Experian Catalist show the average cost of a litre of petrol at UK forecourts was 151.67p on Tuesday.RAC fuel spokesman Simon Williams warned prices could increase further.
